Chris Falson is an Australian Singer-Songwriter, Musician, Producer, Composer, Mix Engineer and Production Coach living and working in Los Angeles

Falson comes from a long line of musicians and entertainers.

His father Ron Falson, a noted orchestrator and jazz musician toured with Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Sammy Davis Jnr and Stan Kenton. His mother Gill Falson was a singer, dancer, actress, theater director and radio DJ, hosting her own weekly Jazz program ‘Playing Favorites’ on East Side Radio. Chris’s maternal grand parents, Jack and Elvie Daniels were musicians and music teachers and his great grandmother Ruby Daniels made her living playing stride piano in country theaters during the silent film era. While Chris has enjoyed a long and rich career as a music maker he is also the father of Sam Sparro and James Bowen (aka Droid Bishop).

Chris’s studio career began when he was 10 years old, singing with his siblings on the many jingles his father wrote and produced for network TV. At 19 he started working as a sideman on guitar for touring artists such as Tiny Tim, The Platters, The Ink Spots, John Farnham, Little Pattie, Daryll Braithwaite and others. Work as a studio musician would follow, then regular live television appearances and a season in the orchestra pit for Andrew Lloyd Webbers’ Sydney production of Cats. Following in his father’s footsteps was inevitable and soon Chris was composing music for TV shows, documentary films, stage plays and radio jingles.

In 1990, his song All Honor was covered by Ron Kenoly on the award winning album Lift Him Up. This success of this album would soon open the door for Chris to move to Los Angeles on a publishing contract. Before that to happen, Chris served as a member of the Totally Radical band alongside David Holmes, Geoff Bullock and Darlene Zschech. He also produced several albums for the Seam of Gold label including ‘Stand’ and ‘War’. In 1992 he released his self-titled album on Broken Records. The single ‘Good People’ received steady airplay on mainstream radio across America.

After moving to LA in 1993 he joined Maranatha! Music as a songwriter and producer, writing, playing, arranging and singing on two projects: ‘Standing on the Rock’ in 1993 and ‘Pure Joy’ in 1994. Subsequently he was invited to perform in Denver for World Youth Day to honor Pope John Paul’s visit to The United States.

1995 saw the release by Chris Falson and The Amazing Stories (musicians and singers from the bands of Andre Crouch, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and the soundtrack to Disney’s The Lion King) with a live CD and video reprising some of Chris’s better-known gospel/worship songs, including ‘All Honor’, ‘Standing On The Rock’, ‘Come To The Waters’ and ‘I See The Lord’.

From 1994 to 1998 Chris wrote songs, played guitar and sang with the Maranatha! PK Band in 30 stadium events across America. In 1997, along with Delirious?, Matt Redman and Noel Richards, Chris participated in the Champion concert at Wembley Stadium, London.

In 1997 Chris formed ‘The Orchard’ label and released 6 solo albums ‘A Tree By The Water’, ‘For Dreamers Only’, ‘The Quiet’, ‘Prisoner of Hope’, ‘Flesh & Bone’ and ‘Rescue Me’.

In 1999, working along side writer-director James Alexander Langteaux, Chris co-hosted and, composed music for the award winning documentary “The Rest” (Best Documentary Rose d’Or Festival). His interest in film/TV saw him become a founding partner in both IBN Sports, a pioneer in the production and distribution of sporting events via the world-wide-web and 3DRevolution, a VFX post- production house (Cats and Dogs 2, Immortals). He would later join forces with 3 Ring Circus to co-produce the short film The Release.

He has worked as a consulted for Apple on the development of the online tutorials for Garageband, Logic and Aperture and produced works on songwriting and production for Avid, Line 6, M-Audio and Lynda.com.

After writing and producing music for other production houses in LA he would eventually co-found Sounds Dangerous, a music production and licensing company based in Hollywood. Some of their production credits (as composer, songwriter, producer) include Cover Me, Castle, October Road, Without a Trace, CSI, CSI NY, CSI Miami, NCIS, Las Vegas, Brothers and Sisters, Men in Trees, Tavis Smiley, Bloodwork, Yes Dear, King of Queens, Rescue Me, Criminal Minds, Numbers, Extra, Access Hollywood, Letterman, Ghost Whisperer, Ed, One Tree Hill, Late Late Show, 60 Minutes, The Early Show, Punk’d, Queer Eye and many more. His film production credits include Blast 23, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, A Buddy Story, Diamonds, Beautiful People, Clean Start, The Release, Cats and Dogs 2 and Immortals (VFX Producer). His commercial production credits include Volkswagen, Apple, The Outdoor Channel, Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, Haier, MTV Exit, Imagine Communications and Avid.

He currently divides his time between writing and producing music for clients (film, TV, indie-artists and record labels) coaching songwriters and musicians and, performing his own music in the US and around the world.
