Are You Curious?

For some time now I have been coaching people and communities on how to be more creative and here are two observations I want to share with you.

Most people believe that:

A) They have little or no creativity.

OR

B) Creativity is a talent possessed by a select few.

In contrast to that, it is my opinion that we all have the creativity gene within in us. And so, rather than seeing it as a talent, what if we viewed creativity as a skill, one that could be nurtured and developed by anyone?

We begin life as a curious child and for the next few years we are encouraged to dream and sing and paint and dance and laugh and make up silly stories. Then all of a sudden, like the closing of a book it’s time to grow up and leave those childish things behind.

But I confess. I don’t think I have ever really grown up and to this day I am still a curious child. To help others rekindle their curiosity I am launching a new YouTube Channel. Our first Podcast on Collaborative Art, featuring a lively and eclectic conversation with friend and Artist Tom Clark, airs today.

We have more podcasts on the way, interviews with other curious children and, I’ll be breaking down my lessons and courses into other YouTube conversations over the coming weeks and months.

And if you do want to be more creative, I have good news for you.

Creativity is like a muscle. Even if you feel that over time, your creative muscles have atrophied (lost their effectiveness) with a few workouts, we can get you back in shape.

It all starts with being curious and better still, being a curious child.

Cheers,

Chris
